Sea Hero Bioscience was established to develop and advance a pipeline of naturally derived compounds from macroalgae, marine invertebrates, and traditional botanicals.
Our focus includes glycosidic triterpene saponins, mutable collagenous peptides and polysaccharides, with documented potential to support epithelial function, modulate inflammatory responses, and potential to act as disease recovery adjuncts.
Founded on principal experience in oncology drug development and supported by a dedicated marine research, development and manufacturing facility commissioned in 2022, Sea Hero Bioscience applies robust preclinical and translational frameworks to its work. We leverage clinical and technical collaborations with leading research organisations in New Zealand and internationally to identify, refine, and validate marine and terrestrial co-factors that are under-represented in pharmaceutical innovation pipelines.

At Sea Hero Bioscience, we recognise that conventional product pipelines often overlook naturally occurring compounds with significant potential, particularly those from wild marine sources. Many of these compounds, including triterpene saponins, mutable peptides, sulphated polysaccharides and proteoglycans, have been traditionally consumed for centuries but remain poorly standardised, under-researched, or ignored in modern biotechnology and pharmaceutical development.
